eritage Meats is exactly that, my family heritage. My Father, Tom Smaciarz, acquired his meat cutting skills growing up on a farm slaughtering and processing the livestock.
In 1968 dad turned those skills into a career as a meat cutter for Safeway. Knowing he wanted to have his own business someday, he began purchasing meat equipment and cutting beef, game and making sausage for friends and family. In 1977, East Olympia Meats officially opened. By 1989 dad retired from Safeway and East Olympia Meats became his full time job. From the very beginning I was by his side learning my father’s skills. After 19 years of succesful business, dad put away his knives and handed the business over to me. Having outgrown the location in East Olympia, WA, I relocated the business to Rochester, WA and in turn renamed the company Heritage Meats.
A lot of things have changed over the life of the family business, but the quality and pride that goes in our work remains the same.
