Ingredients
-
4-5lb. London Broil
-
1/4 cup soy sauce
-
2 Tbs. Canola Oil (Peanut, Avocado, Olive, or other high smoke point oil can be used)
-
Black Pepper (to taste)
-
Garlic Powder (to taste)
Directions
- Make even parallel slices between 1/8” and ¼” about ½” apart across the top of the roast turn the roast 90 degrees and repeat this process to create a grid-like surface. Flip the roast and repeat this process.
- Season the roast evenly with black pepper and garlic powder.
- Place soy sauce into a gallon-sized Zip-loc bag and place the roast into the bag releasing excess air before sealing it.
- Allow the roast to marinate up to one hour, and flip the bag every 15 minutes or so to ensure even margination.
- Heat a skillet to medium heat and add oil.
- Place roast into pan and heat for about 7 minutes. Flip the roast and heat for another 7 minutes—a nicely browned and crusted texture should form—or until the roast reaches an internal temperature of 125 degrees Fahrenheit for a rare roast, or 8 minutes per side or an internal temperature of 130 degrees Fahrenheit for a medium-rare roast. You can cook a London Broil longer, but because of the lean nature of the muscle group, it will toughen the longer you cook it.
- Remove from heat and place the roast on a plate or platter, cover it with foil (shiny side down), and allow the roast to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
- Enjoy!
